Patrick Propst, Lead Pastor

I grew up in DeSoto, Missouri.  I studied at Anderson University where I met my “smokin’ hot wife” Kami, our freshman year in college.  After an interesting courtship, we got married right out of college and moved to Dayton, Ohio for our first full-time Student Ministry position.  After three years in Dayton, we had Jada, our daughter.  Two months after Jada was born, I was offered a position as Student Ministry Pastor with Faith Community.  At the time Faith was only six years old, they had moved into their building about a year earlier, and they were in search of finding their place in the community.   There were a number of exciting possibilities for us and Faith Community, so we jumped at the opportunity.

Over the next couple of years of service to the church and community, we added a couple more members to the Propst tribe, our second son Asher, and about 20 months later our third, Hines.  Over the last seven plus years we have seen the church grow into its identity.  I admit I have never heard, or seen, or been a part of a church that is anything similar to Faith Community, and I LOVE IT!!!

In August of 2011, the time came for the Senior Pastor, a good friend, and mentor, Al Hazen, to retire from ministry and pursue other ventures.  We had the opportunity to celebrate the ministry and friendship that Al had provided since the inception of the church, by rewarding him with the title of Pastor Emeritus.  The Elder board offered the position of Lead Pastor to me, and I accepted the role and responsibilities.  The new position, and transition that we have entered into at Faith is very exciting.  It makes me nervous, it humbles me, it fires me up, and so much more.  I don’t know what’s next or in store for us.  But I’m ready for the challenge, and the journey that lies ahead.  Here we go…

John Chastain, Worship Intern

I grew up in West Lafayette, IN. Home of Purdue University. Boiler up! My whole life my family and I have been big Purdue fans. In 2006, I decided to pursue secondary education at Purdue University. In 2010, I graduated with a degree in Organizational Leadership. College was a very exciting time in my life, but it was also stressful. Not only because of academic pressures, but I wrestled with the question of “What am I going to do with my life?” And the truth is, I still don’t know! But, I do know the Lord is leading and guiding me. However, one of the most important things I have learned is to pursue your passions in life and to use your unique God-given abilities to pursue whatever has been placed on your heart.

During my time at Purdue, I realized one of my passions was worship music. I was first introduced to this kind of music by some of my best friends Ryan, Phil, and Heath. They introduced me to artists such as Hillsong United, David Crowder, and Third Day. These are just a few, but I couldn’t get enough of their music. Also during this same time, I began to pick up the guitar and play around with it. Over the course of my college career and with lots of help from friends, I learned the guitar and developed my musical ability. Both guitar and worship became passions of mine, so it was only natural to put them together. My next step was to get involved with my local church, West Lafayette Christian. They provided me with a ton of opportunities to serve on the worship team and to develop as a young worship leader. Throughout my Junior and senior years of college, I served on our praise team. About a year after graduation, I was offered a position with a company to move down to the Noblesville area and I’ve been living in Noblesville ever since.

Aside from worship, I am also a Young Life leader here in Noblesville. This outreach ministry towards the students of Noblesville High School has become very close to my heart over the three years I’ve been involved. When I don’t have Young Life or this internship going on, I love to just hang out with friends and play sports.

Hopefully this helps give you a better idea of my background, who I am, and why I am so passionate about leading worship. I cannot tell you how excited I am for this worship internship and where this will lead for me. I know God has brought me to Faith Community Church for a reason, and I’m so ready for the journey!
