We are serving the Alzheimer’s patients at Allisonville Meadows. We host and plan social events with them and the staff at least once a month. We try to do things that go beyond what the staff or facility can do and is relevant to what is going on at that time of the year. However, we have also just watched movies, played bingo, and just talked to them. Several residents have family that are unable to visit on a regular basis so they always enjoy the company and conversations that take place. They love it when the kids come to visit!
Some of the things we’ve done are:
- Indy 500 Party (we brought in remote control cars to race)
- Dog Days of Summer (we brought our dogs in on leashes to interact with the residents)
- Christmas Caroling
- Flower Planting
- And more to come…
